The Yale Club of Dallas Annual Dinner will be a reception of wine and hors d'oeuvres at 6pm followed by a dinner at 7pm prepared by the Dallas Petroleum Club and features a talk by Yale Law School Sterling Professor Akhil Reed Amar. Prof. Amar's presentation is entitled:
“The Constitution at a Crossroads”
This year, for the first time in our lifetimes — and for one of the few times in modern history — all four major federal institutions of power are in play, electorally speaking. Come January 2017, Democrats could control the House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court; or Republicans could control all four; or we could continue with divided government. We are sure to have a new president, and the Supreme Court could shift away from Republican control for the first time in nearly half a century.
In this Yale Club of Dallas lecture, Sterling Professor of Law & Political Science Akhil Amar, one of Yale’s most popular professors, will discuss the constitutional significance of all this, with particular emphasis on Texas’s role in our modern constitutional conversation.
Tickets are available for Yale Alumni and the Yale community. There are prices for graduates in the past decade, Alumni who graduated before 2006, and couples.
The cost includes parking, hors d'oeuvres, wine and beverages, 3 course dinner and presentation.
