Alex Golubiewski, SY '11, together with Caleb Smith, SY '11, have produced a film entitled The Spearhead Effect, which has been fortunate enough to be selected for multiple screenings at the Dallas International Film Festival. Academy Award nominee Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life) executive produced the film.
Alex and Caleb have been working together on various projects since their days at Saybrook and the Yale football team, and Caleb has had success acting in film and television (ABC's The Catch; Modern Family), but The Spearhead Effect represents the first joint project to garner any attention. Together with a number of friends and colleagues, including a few Yalies, they were able to gather up what resources they could and craft an intelligent thriller that focuses less on special effects and more on sparking the viewers' imaginations. They would be honored to share this achievement with the greater Yale community.
They would appreciate your support by way of attending one of their film's screenings, either on Thursday, April 6, at 9:30pm, or, preferably, on Friday, April 7, at 10:00pm, both screenings at the Angelika Film Center 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, Suite 230. A link to the tickets page follows: https://secure.dallasfilm.org/festivalfeature/id/24796391416828466
