Transforming lives and communities” is not just a mission at Dallas College, it is both a privilege and responsibility. For over 55 years, the institution has served as a great connector of opportunity, utilizing an array of programs, services and partnerships to solidify the classroom-to-career pipeline.

With increasing demands from an everchanging economy, the seven-campus-institution’s role in providing students with a quality education – and supplying the local workforce with top talent – has never been more crucial.

Join Dallas College Chancellor Justin Lonon as he details the College’s effort to strengthen the economic vitality of Dallas County and beyond.

For more than 15 years, Dr. Justin H. Lonon has provided proven executive and strategic leadership for Dallas College, guiding the institution to fulfill its mission of “transforming lives and communities through higher education." Lonon served as a driving force in the consolidation of the 55-year-old Dallas County Community College District -- and its seven colleges -- into one Dallas College.  He also championed the creation of the College's inaugural Office of Social Responsibility and Inclusion. An Arkansas native, Dr. Lonon earned a bachelor's degree in public administration from Missouri State University, a master's degree in public administration from the University of North Texas, and a doctorate in management from the University of Maryland – Global Campus.  Lonon and his wife, Tonya, are proud parents of one daughter, Karissa, who attends Baylor University.
