9:00am to 11:00am

Vogel Alcove
See map
1738 Gano StreetDallas, TX 75215

Description

Vogel Alcove serves as many as 200 children each day, allowing them to learn, grow and thrive in a place free from hunger or trauma. While their children are in our care, our parents, most of whom are single mothers, have the opportunity to work, look for work or go to school. We give homeless families a chance to overcome their circumstances.

Volunteers will build Bye-Bye bags, which contain shelf-stable snacks and a small bottle of water that children can bring home at the end of the day. These snack sacks provide additional nutrition when the children are away from our facility. Volunteers gather the supplies and fill the bags. You will be assigned items to donate/bring the week before the event.

Weather permitting, there will also be a garden and/or playground beautification project to tackle.

This is a family-friendly, all-ages event.  We have bag decorating for our artistic and younger volunteers and plenty of jobs for volunteers of all ages.  Bring the entire family!
